Eurofighter Typhoon
Quote:Eurofighter Typhoon is the worlds most advanced new generation multi-role/swing-role combat aircraft available on the market. With 707 aircraft ordered by six nations (Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, Austria and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), and in service with all nations, the aircraft is Europe’s largest military collaborative programme.

Eurofighter Typhoon is the only fighter to offer wide-ranging operational capabilities whilst at the same time delivering unparalleled fleet effectiveness.

Careful attention to design and a clear vision of through-life technology insertion and capability enhancements will see the Eurofighter Typhoon maintaining the tactical advantage over whatever threats the coming decades bring.

The Eurofighter Typhoon has guaranteed for partner countries sustained growth, industrial capability, operational effectiveness and global competitiveness.

Nothing Comes Close.

I like this co-operation when it comes to making defence equipment. It's a lot better than going it alone on competing projects and having to throw vast sums of money at developing parallel versions of the same thing.

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon
Generally speaking, a delta wing design translates to inferior maneuverability which results in disadvantage at close-range fights, no?

Eurofighter would be the good for bombing missions and long-range interceptions; most likely, it doesn’t stand a chance against a super maneuverable Sukhoi SU-30MK.

Canards are there to fix a part of that problem but generally, you are correct.

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon
Quote:IT might be over budget and years late but the Eurofighter Typhoon has shown that it can shake off America's best fighter plane and shoot it down.

A chance encounter over the Lake District between a Eurofighter trainer and two F-15 aircraft turned into a mock dogfight, with the British plane coming off best - much to the surprise of some in the RAF. The episode was hushed up for fear of causing US blushes.

For a project 10 years late and $8bn over budget, it is a welcome piece of good news.

The 'clash' took place last year over Windermere when the two-seater RAF Eurofighter was 'bounced' from behind by the two F-15E fighters.

The US pilots intended to pursue the supposedly hapless 'Limey' for several miles and lock their radars on to it for long enough so that if it had been a real dogfight the British jet would have been shot down.

But much to the Americans' surprise, the Eurofighter shook them off, outmanoeuvred them and moved into shooting positions on their tails.

The British pilots themselves were almost as surprised at winning an encounter with an aircraft widely regarded as the best fighter in the world.

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon
Maybe 40 EF Typhoon to Swedish Defence branches typs SAF how are Swedish Air Force instead for 60 Gripen E and I like it. Two division's in Norrland then one in Såternäs and one division in Gotland. We buy between 2019-2022 this weapon system by Europe if we have Air Force in Defence branches after 2018 to there destanation do if the Army goes from 8000 today soldiers to bigger size. One milis in Sweden how are on plannes last year before Sweden choise 15.400 last two months 2014.

40 EF Typhoon in four division's in homeland would be great. Only we choise Swedish Air Force left plus Swedish Navy away how are next best branches after Swedish Air Force 1st in list. The Army in 3rd place but Army are strong in Sweden with bigger force. Around 16000 soldiers would be great. Still wills out with Navy then maybe Air Force to. Only maybe.

Six nation's in Europe with EF Typhoon and one country in Middle East. Whatever.

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon
Thinking 28300 is one classical Swedish size with 300 in coast artillery and Swedish Navy and Air Force remains plus the Army. The Ground Forces by 20.000 soldiers is strong enough to build this after 2018. In 2019 then 2020 the fact are in Wikipedia plus 40 Eurofighter in Defence branches or is 60 Gripen E better? Maybe 3 big division's by 20 jets of one division. Or 16+16 then 6+10 plus 12 left for outland. 6 fighters in every tour. Swedish rules by outland jobs. I saying two sizes in my favorite list now.

RE: Eurofighter Typhoon
Thinks we beholder today strenght by coast artillery by 300 men and 3 men per shouter.

Then I thinks we should have 60 Gripen E like they wills in swedish ministry last year.

Plus 3 renovent U-boats and 2 new U-boats 2021 and 2022 to 2031 of Gotland class two. Then to 2041 HMS Södermanland. Last two in 30 year after 2022.

If we have Air Force, Navy, Army and coast artillery in Defence branches after 2019.

No Eurofighter nows. Have change me from European fighters.

LOL
