You ought to try this parenting lark some time, and then come back with your comments about how it's easy to do x, y and z on three hours sleep with a bad back.

No wait. Don't try it. Just take my word for it. ;)

For life is no cunningly-devised deception or self deception, it is a great truth that thou art alive, that thou hast desires, necessities: neither can these subsist and satisfy themselves on delusions, but on fact. To fact, depend on it, we shall come back: to such fact, blessed or cursed, as we have wisdom for."

No offence, but my kid's got a bit more initiative and guile than could possibly be accounted for by 'NetNanny'. ;)

Oh, trust me. I was a "bright kid" and I couldn't get t around it either (it blocked things that had nothing to do with porn sometimes, even). It was password protected and everything.

Funny thing, I was looking for the Spice Girls music to Spice Up Your Life. Needless to say..

I just have to ask - do you truly believe this?

Quote:What's about Alice Schwarzer, Andrea Dworkin and other Feminist authors, journalists, socialogists etc.? Its only a little group in Feminism that sees "Sex working" as a liberation of women. Most Feminists hate men and they hate sexuality.

Or this?

I am saddened.

I actually read an article somewhere on this, and the reason that it's so extreme is that they're not actually allowed (by law) to show any genitalia.

Quote:The damage that is done is to the young women who particpate in this type unrestrained self-indulgent immoral behavior, and THAT is why I don't at all blame feminists for crusading against it.

And what of young men who also participate in this industry? It takes two to... you know. Or are they blameless?

Quote:Well, and FEMEN says they are agitating against sex tourism and prostitution. Thing is, though, that nude riots aren't much of a help in fighting both. On the contrary their "protest style" much more contributes to the degradation of women and the reduction on tits & asses that feminists and transgender preachers so much love. Same with "slut walks".

Slut-walks are protests against victim blaming.

I don't know but... whenever any sort of female-oriented protest comes up in this place, it is always called ineffective..

I can remember that my parents have installed a Kid's program on my computer. It came also with a cybernanny that was also password protected. The funny thing was: We hadn't internet access that time Big Grin. The passwords from the handbook didn't worked Big Grin. So my dad had to call the hotline himself to uninstall that stupid program Big Grin.

Yes. Every politic view has reasons, and most of that reasons are selfish. I don't believe in the claims that they want something "higher"....

I have read some Feminist arguments against Pornography and Prostitution. One of them was, that both would allow men to "substitute" their partner, to have a sexuality without partnership and that this would be harmful to women.

It must be said that sexuality was ever the best way for women to control men. Without that way to control hen-pecked husbands wouldn't exist......

If they wouldn't hate men, they wouldn't be Femist.

I've yet to see anyone effectively counter THAT argument.

The classic thought-terminating cliché. When you are against it, you are against protection of children.....

No, to reach children with very hardcore, brutal material isn't the freedom of speech we want to protect. But it is the price for the freedom of speech that we want to protect!

RE: Iceland considers pornography ban
Pornography is one of society's ills but as the world becomes more populous it's going to be pretty challenging to enforce an anti-pornography agenda. The already decadent Western world, however, has no chance of passing any anti-pornography legislation because states like Utah, the centre of most religious Christians, watch most pornography in the nation. That's just one example. France or Germany passing anti-pornography legislation? They have been making pornography since the turn of the 20th century. Not going to stop anytime soon without enormous outrage for lack of new material to jack off to.
