Icelandic Eurovision Entry to be Sung in Icelandic
Iceland’s entry to this year’s Eurovision Song Contest, ‘Ég á líf’ (‘I have a life’) by Eyþór Ingi will be performed in Icelandic.

Quote:Discussions had been ongoing as to whether the song would be performed in Icelandic or English. This is the first time since 1997 that Iceland’s entry to the competition will be performed in Icelandic, ruv.is reports.

The music video for the entry was released at midday and is available for viewing here.

The two semi-finals will take place May 14-16 and the final on May 18 in Malmö, Sweden.

The song is currently at the top of the Icelandic charts.

Sometimes it is much better if one cannot understand the lyrics. Saves us the vicarious embarrassment.

Not in haunts of marble chill,
Temples drear where ancients trod,—
Nay, in oaks on woody hill
Lives and moves the German God.

That's great. I wish every country did exactly the same, or even better, that it was a compulsory requirement again. The contest would certainly regain some of its original interest. There are enough gayish pop songs in commercial English already throughout the year.

Sweden, who won last year and was represented by a MOROCCAN, had their song in English, and the one before that and in pretty sure the other ones too.

The German entry once again takes the cake for being the most blatantly plagiarized brainless crap song ever. Germany - no points, L'Allemagne - zero points.
