Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
Novi List - Croatia

Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals

In Croatia the association "In the Name of the Family" is campaigning for a referendum on enshrining marriage in the Croatian constitution. The Catholic Church is providing moral and logistic support for the initiative, revealing its hatred of homosexuals, the left-liberal daily Novi List admonishes: "The Bishop of Dubrovnik, Mate Uzinić, has exposed his heated, inquisitorial soul. With vitriolic attacks against the homosexual population and those who campaign to protect its rights he voiced his support for the referendum. He called on his congregation to fulfil their holy duty and 'defend themselves against those who want to take the children of Christian families and poison them'. ... Such an attack against same-sex marriage is very unusual because it is not even allowed in Croatia, nor are there any indications that this will change any time soon. ... They must believe they need to take preventive action." (14/05/2013)

Temples drear where ancients trod,—
Nay, in oaks on woody hill
Lives and moves the German God.

RE: Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
"Campaigning against homosexuals" apparently consists of not approving of homosexual sex acts and the legal recognition of homosexual unions. none

For the record, the Catholic Church also considers fornication (sexual activity between an unmarried man and unmarried woman) and remarriage after divorce (public and permanent adultery) to be offenses against the Sixth Commandment (Catechism of the Catholic Church, 2353 and 2384). Some may think the Church "invokes hatred" against fornicating and remarried heterosexuals, too.

RE: Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
Like Violet said, this is most certainly not a campaign against homosexuals, but a campaign for making the social institution of Family untouchable.

The state requires 375 000 signatures to organize a referendum and the initiative has collected 131 000 on the first day. They have ten more days to collect the rest so there's a good chance we will actually get to vote on something important.

We must dissent.

Is there an electronic petition? I'd happily sign it, assuming non-Croats are welcome. Croatia is a tiny country compared to the U.S. but my country is the best current example of what to expect when the gay activists are given free reign to shove their sodomy and buggery down the throat of the collective (and naive) public. Beware. Western Europe fell first and Eastern Europe is next.. to a disease called Americanism.

There isn't one, unfortunately, as we lack the required legal framework for that. It's a standard procedure where you have to be a citizen and provide your name along with your identification number.

We must dissent.

RE: Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
The family is being attacked on many fronts in Europe, and sadly children are being specifically targeted in schools and even church camps:

Croatia, 2013:

Quote:Sex education classes would include discussions on gender differences, homosexuality, masturbation as well as how to use contraceptives.

Quote:The new syllabus teaches that masturbation is an 'integrated and normal part of sexuality', that homosexuality is a 'natural variation', and that 'children should learn the difference between sex and socially determined gender'.

England, 2013:

Quote:School pupils should be taught 'not all porn is bad', advise experts.

Quote:Teachers should be aware that “not all pornography is bad” when taking sex education classes, according to guidance made available to schools.

Quote:The Sex Education Forum wants pornography taught in terms of "media literacy and representation, gender, sexual behaviour and body image".

Quote:The guide was published by the Sex Education Forum (SEF), a coalition of more than 90 organisations, including the NSPCC and Barnardo’s, established to campaign for better lessons in the subject.

Spain, 2007:

Quote:The complainants object to schools teaching students to accept homosexuality as normal and singled out a third-grade textbook used in Córdoba, Andalusia, which states that "nature has given us sex so we can use it with another girl, with a boy or with an animal".

Sweden, 2013:

Quote:A "shagging diploma" given to youths at a Swedish Lutheran Church confirmation camp proved too much for parents who complained that their 14-year-olds were too young for sex.

Quote:They were also upset over the use of colloquial phrases like "giving someone a blow job".

Send me the pillow... The one that you dream on.

That makes sense given, if not, it'd be easy to stuff the poll with a ton of non-citizens.

RE: Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
They have collected more than 380 000 signatures so it now seems that the referendum will really take place, which is a rarity in Croatia. I guess that over 50 violent attacks on mostly female volunteers and the subsequent media coverage did the initiative a great favor. These marketing services were paid for by a couple of burns and bruises though.

We must dissent.

RE: Croatia's Church campaigns against homosexuals
According to the initiative, the final count is more than 750 000 signatures, which is more than double the amount required for holding the referendum. For comparison (relatively speaking), it's like more than 55 million Americans signed some petition in the U.S.

We must dissent.
