The best game I've seen so far was CAN - USA. The US has been looking chirpier than usual, while Canada has seemed a little distracted.

Team Canada seem to be having the same problem that often troubles the more unexperienced US teams: that they deserve to win just for showing up.

Not to mention their defensive/goaltending issues. But they'll get their s**t together as the tournament progresses, as they always do.

Finland 5, Switzerland 2.

Watched the first period at the local. Then came home, only to discover my TV had stopped working, for some utopian reason. none

Well, on paper the result is reassuring enough.

It got a bit nervous in the beginning of the third period, Finland leading with 3-2 and Switzerland suddenly very close in getting an equalizer. Filppula's two goals came when they were needed.

I have no idea what's going on. Sweden had a great game against Czechia, but a not so good ending against Denmark.. And Denmark hardly has a hockey team to mention, do they? Anyway, the Swedish team seems a bit unreliable this year, might be because of all the youngsters and their unexperience of tournaments like this one. I'm still holding my breath though, hoping for the best. Hoping that Fast can save the team if needed. They've played three games this far, won all of them and they'll meet Germany tomorrow - Russia on Friday..

I do support Denmark too, even though I know they won't get that far.. But, motherland is still motherland. ;)

I think Sweden is looking very sharp this year, of all teams they've made the strongest impression on me. The "nap" they took against Denmark towards the end is quite understandable when the game was already 6-1 for Sweden.

Finland won with a comfortable margin, but still not quite satisfied with our game.

Nah, the mistake against Denmark must never happen, no matter if the're in a 10 goal lead. Ever. That was stupid, and the Danes did it well, I was a bit proud in the end actually. Tongue

Sweden hasn't looked sharp yet, hopefully it's just a tactic thing not to play very well in the beginning and not do more than it takes to barely win - so that they'll have more energy to REALLY play later on when it matters more.. Hopefully, because I'm not impressed this far. Maybe they have a couple more NHL players on the way as well, that would be nice.

But I guess Sweden will never have a year like 2006 again..

Oh the pain.

But Sweden is clearly one of the best teams of the tournament this year. They made the Czech look like a second rate hockey nation and have won their other games with ease. If they have a problem, it's that Swedish arrogance. Tongue
