I for my part am glad the Dutch didn't make it to the final. I can't stand that Patrick Kluivert - the guy who got away with both manslaughter and rape charges with just a slap on the wrist - is sitting on the bench as the team's assistant manager. thumbs down

The funny thing is that the whole Brazil will cheer for Germany regardless of the beating they got, because if Brazilians realize they made 160 000 people homeless and paid bruzillions and bruzillions of dollars just to pave the way for Argentina to win on Brazilian soil and have Messi being named the best player while being euro-thrashed at home in front of the whole world by 10 goals to 1, very lolsy days will come.

Yet it will be the best thing for them as a nation, as it will lead them to re-evaluate once again the whole purpose of an event that only benefited foreign capital and the local oligarchy.

This is one of the main reasons why I wanted Brazil to be humilliated. Yet again, they're being fucked in the ass by the ages old imperialist-oligarchic alliance. Just like all of us in the region. And once this is all over and done, and they can see for themselves how blatantly their country was sacked by FIFA and their own elites with nothing of value was left for the common Brazilian (those whose faces you won't even see in any stadium of the World Cup), then they will have to wake up.

Football is the Brazilian people's soma, to put it in Huxleyian words.

Argentina now will have to pay for the cheated cup win of 1978 and Maradona's hand play. The trophy for Germany and civil war for Brazil!

RE: World Cup 2014
Congratulations.

Germany had been preparing this generation since the end of the Lothar Matthäus' era. From the last 8 it was the only country with a long term plan emerging right after the poor performance in the Euro 2000.

This team had no special stars with a permanent seat in the starting XI. Everyone had been working for this in the last 14 years and the fruits were reaped tonight.

Ridiculous note: Messi elected the tournament's best player. Relevant countries need to boycott FIFA. Rapidly. It's 2014 and they won't stop behaving like medieval corrupts.

I'm glad it's over, hope it was the last time my entire city patriotically chimped out that much over some stupid ball game. It was like the Third Reich all over again! Oy vey!

RE: World Cup 2014
Was there a trend for giving kids woggy names in Germany a while back? 'Manuel' Neuer, 'André' Schurrle, 'Mario' Gotze...

"Manuel" is a very common German name and I think it always was, "Andre" is probably not very traditional but more or less widespread as well, "Mario", well, it isn't weird either actually, but just more of an Italian name.

RE: World Cup 2014
It is called Kevinism for males and Chantallism for females. Big issue these days because such names tend to get you filed in the "Chav" cabinet when you apply for a job.
