Sinn Fein the most popular party in Ireland
Quote:Fine Gael and Sinn Fein have made major electoral gains, while support for Independents has plummeted, according to a Sunday Independent/Millward Brown opinion poll.

Sinn Fein is currently the country’s most popular political party on 26pc jumping five points since the last survey.

Fine Gael is up three points to 25pc, and Fianna Fail jumped one point to 19pc.

Labour are also up a point but just 6pc of those polled say they would vote for the party at the next election.

RE: Sinn Fein the most popular party in Ireland
Too bad SF sold out in '86 and dropped abstentionism. All the other parties either also sold out or are further to the left than most continental European communist parties. As a voter I'd rather stay home or write in Sinn Féin Poblachtach just for shits and giggles.

Not in haunts of marble chill,
Temples drear where ancients trod,—
Nay, in oaks on woody hill
Lives and moves the German God.
